Who this service is for

For home and business owners considering a renovation, an outdated layout, an extension or a change of use. Start with an assessment when the right intervention is not yet clear.

Our approach

An existing building can continue to serve you as your needs change. We help you understand what to retain, what to improve and where a redesign is worthwhile. Space enhancement can address daylight, ventilation, storage, privacy, access and the way rooms connect.

Adaptive reuse considers a new purpose for an existing building. We review the intended use and available information before developing layout options, with structural and MEP coordination and specialist investigations scoped around the proposed intervention. Extensions and changes of use depend on feasibility and the applicable approvals.

For shops, offices and hospitality spaces, the brief can include customer and staff movement, display, storage, service routes and phased works. Working in occupied premises requires an agreed access and construction plan; continued occupation cannot be assumed.

Agree the scope before work begins

Fees and timing depend on the area, condition, available information and appointed stages. Site visits, measured surveys, structural investigations, approvals and construction support are agreed separately. URU’s design appointment does not automatically include construction or procurement.

How to get started

Share the project location, intended use, approximate area and current stage. Include available plans or surveys, your main priorities, budget expectations and preferred timing.
