This boutique interior design project was developed by Uru Design UAE for Telal Femina, a designer clothing retail brand established by UAE-based fashion expert Telal. Located in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia, the project was conceived as a contemporary retail environment that supports both the functional requirements of a clothing showroom and the experience-driven nature of luxury fashion retail.
The primary objective was to create a boutique interior that could showcase designer collections within a comfortable, organised, and visually engaging environment while ensuring smooth customer movement throughout the store. In fashion retail, the quality of circulation, visibility of merchandise, and overall shopping atmosphere play a significant role in shaping customer experience. The design therefore focused on creating a layout that encourages exploration while maintaining clarity and ease of navigation.
The interior language draws inspiration from Middle Eastern materials, colours, and textures, interpreted through a contemporary luxury retail framework. Warm neutral tones, desert-inspired surface finishes, and textured feature walls were introduced to create depth and visual identity without competing with the clothing collections on display. The material palette was selected to complement fashion products rather than dominate the retail environment.
A key component of the project was the development of custom-designed retail elements tailored specifically to the brand. Display systems, furniture pieces, lighting features, and ceiling components were designed as integrated architectural elements rather than independent fixtures. This approach helped create a cohesive retail identity throughout the showroom while providing flexibility for seasonal collection displays and changing merchandise arrangements.
Customer comfort and circulation were central to the planning strategy. Wide movement zones, carefully positioned display areas, and clear visual connections across the store allow visitors to navigate the space comfortably while maintaining continuous engagement with the products. The layout was developed to support a relaxed shopping experience where customers can browse collections without feeling constrained by the retail environment.
Sculptural design elements were incorporated selectively throughout the interior to reinforce the identity of the boutique as a destination for designer fashion. Feature lighting, customised ceiling forms, textured surfaces, and artistic display components were introduced to create focal points within the showroom while maintaining a balanced and uncluttered spatial experience.
The project reflects our approach towards boutique interior design and retail interior design in the Middle East, where architecture, brand identity, customer comfort, and merchandising requirements are developed together as part of a unified design process. The result is a retail environment that supports the operational needs of a fashion business while creating a memorable and comfortable experience for customers.
